It was Super Tuesday and everyone savvy was just in from the polls. Perched atop our many stooled side tables the scissorinas watched in awe (and some in awful repulsion) as the Republicans filed in , filling every corner of our beloved Irish pub. They had signs, they had suit jackets. But there was one thing they didn't have: style crafts. Luckily us scissor girls were there to cover that department.
Jennie was working on the ever popular Hourglass Sweater from Last MInute Knitted Gifts.
Anne M. was working on Fetching and Clapotis.
Michelle was crocheting a lerrrrvly scarf while Anne G. just worked on a Beer. And she did a number on it too!
As usual I was knitting that horrendous (hor‧ren‧dous [haw-ren-duh
s, ho-] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective shockingly dreadful; horrible: a horrendous crime.) scarf for a certain ungrateful Bobleo. I am happy to say although it is still not finished it will NOT be picked up again for some time. Mwa ha haha. Stupid scarf.
Oh, and if you are wondering why Sarah is pictured here in space (knitting a fantastic sweater btw - sorry, pattern is unnamed - only numbered. How hip is that?) you will be disappointed to find out that the Hat City Scissor Squad has NOT masted interstellar travel, the power to control wormholes or even how to knit in zero gravity situations. The truth is that the mirror behind her had this strange tendency to reflect camera flashes. Weird I know.
Anyway, last but certainly not least there was Jessica!
And what was she working her fingers to the bone on? Sorry folks but NO DICE> that shits a surprise.
Now that we've covered everyones doings for the evening I'd like to say a little bit about why we are suddenly logging our meetings like this. It is all for our own dear Scissor girl, Chsteeni. We love you chicky and until you can come back in person we are going to try our very hardest to provide you the next best thing. Virtual meetings!! Plus lovey mushy messages from all of us:
Anne G: You are a strong and beautiful person. We all support you!
Sarah: We HEART you!! Thinking of you and sending you hugs & kisses.
Jennie: Miss you lots - you are in my thoughts
Anne M: See you soon.
Michelle: Keep rockin!
Jessica: It was so good to see you! It made me feel good to see your smile.
Mary: Keep on truckin sister! Tap into the snark supply!!
This weeks meeting had a guest knitter. Anne Syme's Mom was in town and joined
us for our little Tuesday get together.
Exhibit A --------------------->
Also there that evening for a special appearance was our very own wide eyed wanderer, Eva!! (insert swanky late night talk show music here) Apparently Eva has been scouting out some new digs for the knit night. We are definately not abandoning Molly's since they are oh so good to us there, but Eva is keeping an eagle eye out for more locations to avoid dreaded monotony. Good luck in your quest Eva!!
It was a short but spicy night over at the ol' knit n spit. Lauren showed us the latest evolution of her new tatoo. I wish I had taken a picture but you know me. Not always to quick on the uptake. It's all purply and wavy behind the flowers now. I think she said the flowers themselves will be the next thing that gets filled in. When she shows up next time I will definately try and get a good shot of the new tattoo. In the meantime I do have a lovely picture of Lauren fully clothed with Laura.
She was doing a free form, wing it work of crochet which looked like it was going to turn out to be a grade A endeavour. Kindergarten is going well and you'll be happy to hear that she seems really happy with the new job. Despite repeatedly being called, "Mister", "Hey you", and "What's your name again?" Laura is getting along very well with her new itty bitty charges.
Jennie's not so itty bitty charges are as usual challenging , but rewarding. Her knitting project has really taken off and she says the kids are having a great time. I think all us scissor girls are really proud of her for getting it off the ground and going after what she wanted. Go Jennie!!!
Michelle, being inconveniently on the other side of the table didn't have much to say to mio. But since I couldn't hear her over there I've taken the liberty of inventing something she may have said... " Hello. My name is Michellllle. I enjoy several varietys of pickled foods, trips to the Christmas Tree Shops, 75 cent coupons (for their tripling power, of course) and playing dodge ball with my son. One day I hope to have triplets and form the fiercest dodge ball squad this world has ever seen. They will cripple all who stand in their way. Mwa ha ha ha. Mwa ha ha ha ha." I didn't get a picture either so I supplied this one from my "archives". heheheheh
Anyway. I didn't get individual messages this week but I did get a general feel for what everyone wanted to say to our dear buddy Christine. Michelle thought it would be a good idea to spell it out in craft supplies. I concurred:
